Home and business cooling that fits Cape Town conditions
When the heat rises in summer or load-shedding pushes indoor temperatures up, you need cooling that works when it matters. We install, repair and service air-conditioning for homes, flats, offices and small commercial spaces across Cape Town. We also handle commercial refrigeration, cold rooms and freezer equipment for businesses that cannot afford spoilage or downtime.
Our work is based in Montague Gardens and we serve the wider Cape Peninsula, from the CBD and Milnerton through to Bellville, Claremont, Somerset West and Fish Hoek. Coastal humidity, salty air and older municipal buildings can all affect performance, so we choose practical fixes that suit the site and the way you use the space.
What we supply and service
Some clients need a new aircon fitted in a bedroom or boardroom. Others call us because a unit is blowing warm air, tripping on start-up, or losing gas. We also work on refrigeration systems used in kitchens, storage rooms and retail back-of-house areas. If you need a one-off repair or regular maintenance, we can help.
- Aircon installation for homes and offices
- Aircon repairs and fault finding
- Aircon gas refill and leak detection
- Aircon service and cleaning
- Cold room repairs
- Freezer repairs
- Compressor replacement
- Thermostat replacement
- Ventilation servicing
We keep the focus on getting the unit working properly, not just making a quick patch. If a gas top-up is needed, we first look for leaks. If a compressor is failing, we check whether the surrounding parts are still worth saving. That sort of assessment saves clients from repeat call-outs and unplanned costs.
How we work on site
Our booking process is direct. You send the details to bookings@tropicalrefrigeration.co.za, we check the fault or the installation needs, then we arrange a visit that suits the site and access times. For offices and retail spaces, we try to work around trading hours. For homes, we plan around school runs, security gates and access to the outdoor unit.
Once on site, we test the system, explain what we find and recommend the next step before work goes ahead. That may be a repair, a gas refill after leak detection, or a replacement part such as a thermostat or compressor. We also pay attention to things that get missed, like blocked filters, poor drainage and airflow problems. Small issues can push electricity use up and shorten the life of the unit, so we sort those out while we are there.
- Clear fault checking before work starts
- Practical advice on repair versus replacement
- Neat installation and tidy finish
- Parts and labour explained in plain terms
- Follow-up support for ongoing issues
